A 2002 Flash classic, rebuilt for the browser
CurveballNEXT
Meet the ball. Bend the rally.
3D pong where the spin you put on the ball with your paddle decides where it curves. Play the ten-level campaign alone, or send a link to a friend.
Two ways to play
Mouse onlySolo
Classic
- Ten levels with an opponent that gets harder
- Five lives, a score, and a level bonus that ticks down
- Runs entirely in your browser, no server or account
With a friend
Online · Private 1×1
- Create a room and send the invite link
- Three lives each, with rematches
- Lag compensation, so a defender is not punished for network delay
Servers
São Paulo and Virginia
A room is created on the server nearest to whoever creates it, and the invite link takes your friend to the same one.
No accounts. If someone leaves mid-match, the match ends with no winner and cannot be resumed.

Four things to knowAbout this project
Independent reconstructionCurveballNext is a from-scratch reimplementation of Curveball, the 2002 Flash game. The original was studied to recover its rules: collisions, curve physics, timing and the difficulty tables. The game logic was then written independently from that specification.
The simulation is deterministic at 30 Hz and was checked frame by frame against the original running in Ruffle. Equivalence with Adobe Flash Player itself is not proven, and the docs say where behavior is uncertain.
Everything is drawn with Canvas and the sound is synthesized with Web Audio. No original artwork, sound or code is used or distributed.
The game is free and has no ads. If you enjoy it, you can support its development on Ko-fi.
